ASHA NIKETAN CHENNAI IS HIRING A LIVING-IN/ RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT (CAREGIVER)
Asha Niketan Chennai (ANC) is a faith-based community where people with and without intellectual disabilities live and work together. ANC offers people with intellectual disabilities(we call Core members) a home where they will be valued and respected, their gifts welcomed and celebrated. We welcome people of all religions.

Asha Niketan Chennai is situated in Kottivakkam, the south suburbs of Chennai.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for male and female for a live-in position called the Assistant (Care Giver) to provide care and support to Core Members and contribute to the growth and well-being of each member of the community.
Assistants are expected to carry out the various responsibilities that are given to them in the day-to-day life of the communities and work programmes
The candidate should come with a spirit of openness and willingness to learn, commitment to personal growth, and belief in the sacredness of every individual especially the differently-abled. She/he should come with a desire and a capacity to grow through the daily life shared with people with intellectual disabilities.
OUR EXPECTATIONS:
- Friendship and Sharing Life as a family: living together with persons with learning disabilities in the Asha Niketan house, spending leisure time with them, going out with them, eating food together, praying together, etc.
- Personal care: help persons with disabilities in their personal care and hygiene e.g. giving showers, shaving, helping to get dressed, etc.
- Support in daily activities: help Core Members with their personal tasks and duties in the house and their work program, shopping with them, etc.
- Share your talent: participate in and help to organize community activities, different religious prayers, celebrations, etc.
- Work as a team: working in collaboration and cooperation with the team and with those given authority in the community, such as a house/ program leader, community leader, etc.
- Language: Speaking Basic English is desirable (but not a must) as we have both Tamil-speaking and non-Tamil-speaking core members and Caregivers. Our meetings are held in bilingual (English and Tamil)
WHAT WE OFFER:
- The Assistant (caregiver) will receive a monthly salary of ₹12,000.
- The Assistant is also provided with free board and lodging.
- Other than contract Assistants, regular Assistants can claim other medical and leave benefits as mentioned in the HR manual.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- The candidate education has to be a minimum of +2 pass.
- Having a qualification in Special Education, Care-giving, Nursing, etc. can be an advantage
- The candidates who are single are preferred
- We accept people from all religious and cultural backgrounds.
